GRACEE WATCHED FAST CAT

The Augusta Kennel Club hosted a weekend of FastCat (coursing ability tests). This new AKC program is very popular--not just for owners of purebreds, but also to owners of mixed breeds. It requires no training. A dog and handler stand behind the starting line. When the lure (plastic bags) start moving, the dog is released and chases the lure for 100 yards. The dog's speed is then calculated. More information about this event is found at www.AKC.org FastCat.

Every person and every dog had a good time. No sore losers, even when the dog refuses to chase the lure or stops before completing the full distance.

I foresee Gracee and Feren trying out FastCat in the future.
