One puppy has been able to reach the landing at the top of the steps for a couple of days. Today all of the pups reached the top! Of course, the effort left them exhausted and they chose to go into the crate for a nap (they really did go into it themselves).

The litter with Bobby (WyldWynds In The Company of Masters) as the sire and Journey (Statesman's Just Imagine) as the dam is doing well. They were born on February 26th and are twelve days old today.

As a rule we count skulls to determine how many puppies there are. Better yet, we count skulls and the spine attached to the skull. However, sometimes skulls or spines get blocked by another puppy, making the official count difficult to determine.

Ellie has developed a friendship with one of the calves in a neighboring field. When this calf sees Ellie, he comes running to her (there are two other calves in the same field who to NOT run to meet Ellie). It's so sweet seeing them touch their heads together. Ellie's owner says that in another field there are older calves who love to run the fence line with Ellie. Ellie and all of these calves are very special creatures. Statesman's Just Imagine is due to whelp her puppies in one week. In a few days she is going to have a puppy count x-ray at the vet. She is still quite active, but she is only able to eat a little bit of food at a time.

I think that Journey is maybe looking a little thick around her waist? She still races around the yard with Bader and Marcus. She does ask for more petting from me. She also has been telling Marcus to stop being so rough when he plays with her. Do you think that Journey looks pregnant?

Statesman's Goodness Gracious is doing well in her new home. She was spayed a couple weeks ago and is healing nicely. Thank you, Benbow family, for these photos.

Statesman's Ellie Mc of Twin Oaks has been very busy sniffing out mole holes. She also enjoys sniffing for rabbits and squirrels. She will soon start training to run in AKC FASTCAT events as well as Dock Diving. Ellie is a very versatile girl!
