Statesman's Blue Plate Special is caring for his recovering human. Welsh springers are very sensitive and perceptive so they make excellent therapy dogs. Some Statesman owners have gotten their dogs certified by therapy dog organizations and go to schools, hospitals and nursing homes.
Susan worked in a nursing home back in the 70s. She would take her Welsh, Sugari's Saga of Sylabru, to work with her. The residents loved seeing and petting "Girl", and it prompted reminiscing about residents' dogs in their past. A very rewarding experience for everyone, including the dog.
