Last week Susan drove Journey to the reproduction veterinarian...usually a 2.5-3.5 hour drive. Her progesterone was tested and the results indicated that she was heading into ovulation. Additional progesterone tests were done to esto, ate as close to the time of ovulation as possible. This is especially important when using frozen semen because the sperm survive only 12-24 hours as compared to several days from unfrozen semen. '
Journey was bred on Sunday August 9th and Monday August 10th using artificial insemination of thawed semen from Hartsage Red Angus. She will have an ultrasound in about 4 weeks to see if she is pregnant.
She is pictured after returning home from the vet.
